FIRST CLASS GYMNASTICS

First Class Gymnastics opened its doors in St. Johns in 2021, starting out in borrowed studio space and hauling equipment in and out each week. What began with a handful of classes twice a week quickly grew, and by 2023 the program had a permanent home in a renovated 50-year-old building. Thanks to local contractors, family, and friends, the gym was transformed into a welcoming space with upgraded equipment, expanded class options, and St. Johns’ very first competitive gymnastics program.

Today, First Class Gymnastics is proud to be Apache County’s only Certified USA Gymnastics gym—one of a kind within a 115-mile radius. The gym offers Olympic-level training standards and a variety of classes for boys and girls ages three and up, along with a competitive team that has already made its mark in the USA Gymnastics XCEL Bronze division. Even as the smallest competitive gym in Arizona, its athletes hold their own against much larger programs, proving that hard work and encouragement can bridge any gap.

The mission of First Class Gymnastics is to provide a safe, fun environment where kids can grow physically, mentally, and socially. With a focus on positivity and encouragement, the gym supports students at every skill level and is proud to partner with ESA scholarships through ClassWallet, making gymnastics accessible to more families. In addition to weekly training, the gym hosts camps, open gyms, and birthday parties, and looks forward to continuing its positive impact in St. Johns and the surrounding communities.​
